Self-Catering
holiday cottage in Cornwall - wide variety of holiday cottages available
in LARRICK HOLIDAYS
LARRICK HOLIDAYS, TREBULLETT, LAUNCESTON,
A small, family run farm is home to cows, calves, sheep, lambs, chickens and our two friendly sheep dogs. Help feed the animals, assist with the lambing in February and lend a hand with the hay harvest in June/July. SITUATION The farm is located in an untouched, timeless river valley. You are free to explore the ancient oak woodland, walk along the banks of the River Inny and soak in the breathtaking views around you. THINGS TO DO West Larrick is away from the crowds but is nevertheless well positioned for many tourist attractions. A drive of only twenty minutes will bring you to the beautiful, unspoilt beach of Crackington Haven and there are many more lovely beaches near by. Twenty miles South lies the city of Plymouth which offers excellent shopping and entertainment for all the family, including the National Marine Aquarium. Within an hour's radius are National Trust houses, beautiful gardens (such as the Lost Gardens of Heligan), the new Eden Project , walks on Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. There is the breathtaking Camel cycle trail, Sterts Art Centre with open air theatrical productions and it is only a 15 minute drive to the golf course at St Mellion. Trethorne Leisure Farm is a great family day out and only ten minutes drive away. There is also an eighteen hole golf-course at Trethorne. There are good riding schools nearby, and sailing and windsurfing on a reservoir 20 minutes away. Paintballing, canoeing, rock-climbing and microlight flying are all available in the area. It is a mile to the small village shop, and the Springer Spaniel pub with the best food in Cornwall is only a mile down the road. Let us know and we can usually arrange it for you. On the farm itself there is exclusive use of half a mile of fishing both banks. The water of the River Inny is very clean, clear and unpolluted. Although not large, it has enough variety to interest most enthusiasts. Sea Trout runs enter on high water from mid-summer and autumn rains can provide quite large runs of salmon coming up from the Tamar. The salmon season finishes on 14th October. We have arranged for other stretches of the river to be available. Temporary membership of local angling clubs can gain access to many more miles of good water, including exclusive lower Tamar beats. The salmon fishing season extends to the 14th December on the River Camel, where very large fish can be encountered on Association Water. Roadford and Siblyback Lakes are both well stocked and provide good sport for the still water specialist. Both are approximately fifteen minutes drive away.
