This comfortable semi-detached period cottage is found on a quiet country lane within walking distance from the village of St Day.

A warm welcome awaits guests at Anchor Cottage, its whitewashed stone walls and aquamarine tones inviting you inside. Located along a peaceful lane just half a mile from the rural village of St Day, you are near enough to stroll down for some fresh bread and the morning paper. With lots of walks, cycle paths and bridleways in the area and the sandy surfing beaches of North Cornwall just 5 miles away, you couldn't ask for more.

The cottage still retains some of its period charm, complemented by light painted wood, vintage furniture and a heavenly brass bed. The open-plan kitchen/living area has all you could need, with a dining table and sofa where you can settle down with a meal and film in the evening. Outside the property, a spacious enclosed patio is the perfect place to take the sun in the afternoon and to enjoy a BBQ.

Anchor cottage is well placed to discover the mining heritage of this area of the coast. The historic tin mine ruins of Wheal Coates are an 8-mile drive away and here you can pick up the coastal path to walk along the St Agnes Heritage Coast. For beaches, shops and seafood restaurants, the seaside resort of Perranporth is 9 miles from the cottage or for a trip to a larger coastal town, just 10 miles away is the deep natural harbour of Falmouth.

Good location, very central for Cornwall highlights, although not great for local; services (pubs / shops etc) you will need a car. Well equipped cottage.

The location was ideal for what we wanted, close to tourist attractions but on the outskirts of a small village so little traffic. Local shops and amenities only a short walk away.

Anchor Cottage was in a great location, a short walk to the village St Day with two nice dog friendly pubs, a couple of shops and butchers. A very well appointed comfortable cottage, nice friendly owners close to. We found the location great to travel the local area and further afield. We look forward to a return visit.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
