A cosy converted barn offering comfortable accommodation with picturesque countryside surroundings. Perfect for romantic breaks.

Its location on the gorgeous Lizard Peninsula with a 3-mile trip to the spectacular coast is what makes this property especially sought after. The village of St Martin is where you can find this charming retreat, home to a 16th century Cornish pub and country lanes to explore after you've finished traversing the stunning rural farmland attached to the cottage. A private patio area and large summer garden are attached, where you could share a cream tea or light up the BBQ while catching the last rays of the day.

Large stone walls and attractive windows allow light to stream into the cottage and wonderful wooden features adorn this property from the feature fireplace to the kitchen cupboards. Colourful tiling behind the kitchen cabinets, a matching wooden floor and smart simple lighting help make this the haven you deserve. Sink into comfortable seating with soft carpet beneath your feet and a glass of bubbly in hand.

Blackbird Cottage is ideally situated for exploration, in the centre of the Lizard Peninsula. 8 miles away is the heritage town of Helston, with a town trail, a boating lake and plenty of spots to buy a traditional Cornish pasty. Throughout the region, there is a wide range of wildlife attractions including the Seal Sanctuary which is 6 miles from the property, Roskilly's Ice Cream Farm 5 miles away and 7 miles across to the Chocolate Factory & Craft Centre at Mullion. The cottage was very comfortable and very clean. The owners were very friendly and we were welcomed with flowers and a home made cake (which was yummy). We really enjoyed the privacy and it was so peaceful and relaxing, which was what we were after.

Only four stars for location due to access via narrow Cornish lanes, Blackbird Cottage itself is completely detached with a large rear garden on a working farm in pleasant open countryside. Went for a relaxing holiday and that was what we got. Owners very pleasant and welcoming.

Blackbird cottage is ideally situated for exploring the Lizard Peninsula and beyond. It is a very comfortable, private cottage which was larger than expected. It was spotlessly clean throughout. The owners were friendly and it was extremely peaceful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
