Property code: GOSCO

A traditional style farmhouse with original and charming period features set in the heart of the Cornish countryside with easy access to North Cornwall’s beautiful coastline.

Take in the magnificence of the Cornish countryside from Goscott House, situated on a traditional working sheep farm with a surrounding expanse of rolling hills and long private driveway. The rustic character of this property is embodied by the stonework facade, slate floors and oak dining table. After a day at the beach, gather the family in the games barn for an intense game of pool or air hockey, before a hearty supper by the wood burner in the dining room.

Grand rooms and elegant touches hint at luxury while plush furnishings and rich colours offer warm homely comfort. Have a tinkle on the piano in the drawing room while the open fire roars on chilly evenings. All rooms are spacious, providing plenty of communal areas to get together and enjoy quality family time. As the grandfather clock strikes six, take a gin and tonic out to the enclosed garden and watch the sky turn pink, before a DVD in the cinema room.

For a day at the beach, Widemouth Bay is only 4 miles away, a location popular with families and surfers alike. At low tide there are rock pools for the little ones to explore, or take a break at one of the many viewing areas to admire the gorgeous panorama of the beach. A 10-mile drive will put amongst the shops, restaurants and cafes of Bude, where there are even more glorious beaches to choose from. Boscastle and Tintagel Castle are both within 20 miles too, for a fun day of adventure.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage which was full of character and spacious. Farmer Grahame was very welcoming and the kids loved the tractor ride. Would definitely visit again and highly recommend to others visiting the area.

The house is very old and authentic. We loved that it hadnt been messed around with. There are very few neighbours and with no light pollution there stars were fantastic. Graham suggested some beaches and bays that were less busy which was a change from Bude that was mobbed! Definitely on our list of holiday houses worth a revisit.

Goscott House is a wonderful property, which Farmer Graham has quite rightly left unspoilt by modernisation and full of original features. It was clean and tidy and had everything we needed for a fantastic week in Cornwall. All of us from 11 years old to 61 had an amazing time, with great advice from Farmer Graham about local beaches and his great Read moreknowledge of the history of the house. Without a doubt one of the highlights was the trip around the farm, all of us enjoyed it very much! Hide

Property had loads of character but owner needs to consider heating during colder periods and at least provide appropriate bedding not just summer duvets.

Our family went on holiday, eight in all, with the youngest being boys eight & six. I have a particular interest in Goscott as I was evacuated to this farm during the second world war, circa 1943/5, it brought back many happy memories.

A charming location and house full of character with plenty of room except the kitchen. Some of the furnishings are a bit tired and minor repairs and decorations would make a big difference. The friendly host was on hand to give advice to make the best of our holiday

We have just returned from Goscott House and the property was just as described. Farmer Graham was a superb host and the kids loved the tractor ride around the farm plus his recommendations for beaches were great. The house is an old farmhouse with all the character of such, granted some may wish for more modern facilities but it is an old farmhousRead moree and has the quirks of one. My family of 9 all had a great time and asking if they could go back again so says it all really. Hide

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove.
