Property code: HELLF

This thoughtfully converted, listed barn conversion with private hot tub enjoys a rural coastal location high above the pleasant fishing village of Portreath.

Groups are welcome to enjoy the spacious haven that is Hellfire Jack's. A stylishly converted barn, this property is listed and thankfully retains many of its original features. Within 10 miles are the beaches of Chapel Porth, Porthtowan and Godrevy, making this a practical base for those looking to make the most of the waves during the day before returning to sit in the hot tub under a starry night sky.

This property is well-equipped to keep everyone entertained, from the shared play area, with swings and a slide, to the private hot tub where you can relax and reminisce about the day. The home is beautifully presented with classic and comfortable furniture as well as pops of colour to keep spirits high. Enjoy evenings out on the terrace followed by nights in the elegant four-poster bed.

Portreath is wrapped in myth and legend and offers plenty to explore from pretty sandy beaches to fantastic walks and even a haunted house. A small tidal pool can be found to the far right of the beach up against the harbour wall. Many believe a thrifty local created the tidal pool using dynamite borrowed from the local mine. If you venture 6 miles west, you will be able to take in the breathtaking Godrevy coast and all its beautiful coves and bays.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We are a family of 7 adults and two infants. We have just returned from the property and cannot recommend it highly enough. The facilities were great, the play area for the children so handy and ks the hot tub relaxing after a day's sightseeing. The perfect base for our first Cornish stay cation.

Hellfire Jack's is one of several on site, although is largest. All others face into a quadrangle whereas this doesn't giving more privacy, especially when in garden and hot tub. Four poster bedroom is huge with lovely ensuite bathroom, with one other ensuite double, two twins and another double with two further bathrooms. Kitchen is great, with laRead morerge dining table and very well equipped with lots of plates, saucepans etc. We went walking locally and further afield, so much to do in Cornwall! Hide

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
