Traditional character cottage with parking and BBQ. Situated on the edge Bodmin moor and perfectly located for exploring all the attractions of Devon and Cornwall.

Take it easy and stay near the least populated part of Cornwall, Bodmin Moor, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Made for two, you can spend your days walking and adventuring and before retreating to this haven to light up the BBQ. A highlight of this home is the sunroom, where you can bask in the splendid warm light of the golden hours.

Muted hues combine with comfortable furniture, making this the perfect domain in which to relax and forget that there's a real world outside. Its characterful details and impeccable standards of cleanliness will help you to ease into the chilled Cornish life in no time. Everyone can find his or her bliss here, while you delve into a book in the enclosed courtyard your dog could be dozing by the roaring fire.

Don your walking boots and pack your bike to experience the surrounding countryside with the wind in your hair and the off-road gems. Discover the hidden smuggler's paths leading to and from Jamaica Inn or walk in the footsteps of prehistoric man across Bodmin Moor. Historic Boscastle and Tintagel lie less than 14 miles away from the front doorstep of Hill Cottage Altarnun. Once a bustling commercial port, Boscastle has slowed down the pace over the last century and is now admired for its picturesque beauty. Tintagel is only 5 miles west and is perfect for those who wish to learn more about Cornwall's myths and legends.

We had a wonderful week, our cottage was beautiful. Hosts were very friendly, they gave us lots of information on the area . Tasty cream tea was waiting for us on our arrival. Would recommend

Very quiet location . Nowhere to take dogs for a quick morning walk but this doesn't detract from the cottage been very cosy and centrally located to visit other places

A lovely cosy cottage set in beautiful surroundings, close to the A30 so it's easy to access the lovely Cornish countryside. Pippa welcomed us and her knowledge of the local area was very helpful. A nice touch with the cream tea that was laid out for us. We visited so many places during our stay, even a trip to Land's End. We were even lucky with tRead morehe weather. Only downside was, we had only 5 lovely days there, wish it was more. Would love to come back one day. Hide

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
