Escape to the Cornish countryside to stay in this luxurious property, just 2 miles from the bustling market town of Launceston. The accommodation sleeps four guests, making it perfect for a small family or two couples, and has bags of character thanks to its original period features. Step outside the grand building to explore the surrounding shared grounds, where you can take a woodland walk or enjoy a picnic by the pond. The picturesque village of Boscastle is 18 miles away and you’ll also be within easy reach of the popular seaside resort of Bude (25 miles). Step inside the historic building and into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which is full of luxurious little touches to make your stay feel extra special. This wonderfully sociable space features elegant mullion windows and exposed beams, as well as a roaring wood burner to snuggle in front of on chillier evenings. Upstairs, discover two beautiful bedrooms, a spacious king-size with a walk-in dressing area and a cosy twin with views across the surrounding countryside. Outside, you’ll find a patio with outdoor seating, as well as an undercover BBQ area, to enjoy al fresco evenings of great food and laughter. If you’re looking for quintessential Cornish charm, head to the coast and the historic fishing village of Boscastle. With its gorgeous natural harbour, thatched cottages and white-washed buildings, the whole area is a photographer’s dream. National Trust land envelops much of the village, providing a vast range of walking routes around the surrounding rugged landscape. With links to the legend of King Arthur, Tintagel Castle (19 miles) is another must for the itinerary. Perched high on the windswept cliff, with the waves crashing below, you’ll be hard pushed to find a more evocative setting for a fortress.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
