Tucked away on a tranquil 130-acre farm, Little Merrose is a quaint single-storey holiday home lying just one mile outside the coastal village of Portreath. The cottage, which is one of three barn conversion properties at this site, is ideally situated for exploring Cornwall's north coast, located twenty miles from two of the region's best-loved seaside towns of St Ives to the south and Newquay to the North.

The fresh country air and tranquil farmland surroundings make this cottage a delightful place to stay for those who want to enjoy a peaceful getaway and yet still be within easy reach of beaches, attractions, and excellent restaurants. Perfectly-sized for two people, the vaulted beamed ceiling in the lounge/diner not only adds charm to the cottage, but also affords a fantastic sense of space.

Whether guests are looking for a simple low-key seaside holiday or are hoping to explore the cultural highlights of the region, Little Merrose is ideally situated all of this and more. No two days are the same, spend a day browsing the galleries in St Ives, and another taking a surfing lesson on Newquay's Fistral beach, or maybe you'd prefer to head across to the magnificent Eden Project, forty miles to the east, where visitors can wander the tropical gardens before enjoying a thrilling zipwire ride high above the famous golf-ball shaped domes.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This cottage is probably ideal for dog owners, being close to Tehidy Park. There is a good kitchen and the bed and sofa are comfortable - good shower too. However we found external care and attention poor so we think the 4 star rating is optimistic.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
