This purpose converted wing of the owners’ home has been lovingly furnished in a pretty country style, is perfectly placed for touring Devon and Cornwall, and provides a great base for couples.

The ancient stronghold of Launceston promises an idyllic stay for any explorer. Step through the French doors and into this cottage of country comforts and exhale. Rise with the Cornish sun shining through your window and follow the sea breeze. Both Devon and Cornwall are easily accessible from the A30 so no adventure is off limits.

Once you're done roaming the battlements of Launceston castle, take off your armour, head home, and get cosy around the BBQ, perhaps sizzling up some locally-caught fish. Give your adventurers legs a rest, settle into the sofa and dive into one of the many books available. This beautiful bright bungalow is dowsed in the warm yellow of beaches, so you'll never feel too far from the sand.

Maple Grove's central location allows you access to both coasts, so if surfing is your cup of tea Crackington Haven is just a 15-mile drive away offering gorgeous expansive coastline. If you want to stay closer to home, Launceston, once the capital of Cornwall, has plenty to offer. Wind your way through its narrow streets to the ancient Norman Castle, then explore the more modern boutiques and regular markets of the town square. For a more unbridled adventure, visit the wild Bodmin Moor (6 miles away), and immerse yourself in Poldark's home country. Then take a 22-mile trip to picturesque Port Isaac, home of Doc Martin, for a unique Cornish experience.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Despite the weather we did enjoy our holiday in Cornwall. The cottage was spotlessly clean and June Balcombe was exceptionally helpful and a lovely person.

Location

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
