Conveniently situated in Duporth Bay which is within walking distance of Charlestown harbour, a beautiful Georgian port that has featured in the Poldark TV series, with much to see and do. Take time to discover the Tall Ships at Charlestown a perfect place to relax on the historic quay where time has stood still. Carlyon Bay has a fabulous coastline with some lovely walks, sheltered coves and traditional fishing villages nearby including Fowey to the east and Mevagissey to the west. Attractions in the area include the Eden Project, The Ship Wreck Centre, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Poldark Mine, St Michaels Mount and National Trust properties including nearby Lanhydrock House.

As you arrive at this delightful three storey Cornish retreat, the off-road parking is located on the ground floor in front of the garage. From the parking area, head on up the stairs to the first floor where you are greeted by two of the three bedrooms as well as the family bathroom. Bedroom one and two offer a double room. The bathroom consists of a shower over the bath and WC. Heading on up to the second floor you are welcomed by a kitchen area and the master bedroom. The master is spacious and offers a double bed with an en-suite shower room with WC. The kitchen comes well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, washer/dryer, breakfast table and chairs. Leading on up to the third floor you will find a truly perfect, open plan dining and living space offering views from the balcony area where you can sit and relax with a good book. Alternatively, cosy up on the comfy corner sofa with the family under a throw and lose yourselves in a good movie on the Smart TV. This space also offers a table and chairs which will comfortably seat six guests.

When you stay here you will enjoy access to a private, dog friendly, beach. The property also offers the use of the garage area where you will find a table tennis table, wetsuit rail and a safe place to store your bikes. There is one off-road parking space with the property. Further parking will be roadside and subject to availability.

Montauk is a very warm, comfortable and well equipped house. We liked the location, it was easy to walk to Charlestown, and there is a bus stop nearby. The beach would be great in drier weather as would the easy access to the coast path.

We had a really wonderful stay at Montauk. The private beach access is wonderful and it's approximately a 5-10 minute walk downhill. The house itself was clean, well equipped and had everything you might need during your stay - including a few board games and access to Sky. The house is across four floors (including the parking bay at the back on tRead morehe ground floor) and after a while even our fairly fit family felt the stairs in our knees! Fantastic house equipped with everything you could possibly need. Just a 10 min walk to Charlestown where there were ample restaurants - we only tried 3 of them but they were all good. Short drive to supermarket (Tesco, Asda, Aldi all close by) and to local take aways. Great location for a base to explore Cornwall. Easy to find. Great holiday, the property is easily accessible from a number of places. The private beach was a benefit and worth the walk down, as was the coastal path walk to Charlestown. It was really well equipped and the information pack, leaflets etc were very helpful. I would definitely stay again

Beautiful house, equipped with everything you might need. Might not be so good for someone elderly or with mobility problems as there are 4 levels and lots of stairs (although the front door is actually one floor up). Absolutely fantastic accommodation, made for a very relaxing first holiday in Cornwall. Plenty of room for two couples and a teenager, and couldn't be much closer to the private beech access. Highly recommended.

Amazing cottage with access to your own private beach!!! Not the best for older dogs (our 12 yr old retriever found the stairs too challenging, so would often stay on the first floor, but seeing as when shes not walking all she does is sleep I dont think she felt she was missing anything!!) Lots of walks around the cottage, but brilliantly located Read moreif you drive for access to St Austell we can recommend Eden project (do park run and get free entry!), brewery tour and the Eden zip line!!
