Old Windmill Cottage is the perfect romantic retreat. Close to coastal towns Fowey (8 miles) and famed Poldark town Charlestown, you're ideally located for plenty of attractions – this is, if you manage to leave the property. Your own private heated pool and freedom to wander the owner's grounds and take in the stunning views are a few good reasons why you won't want to leave the cottage.

This cottage has been carefully decorated in a contemporary cottage style, making the open plan living area a peaceful place to relax after a long day. The large bright kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals to fuel your day, whether that involves venturing out or a leisurely swim in the outdoor pool. The garden has a decked area with BBQ, so you can enjoy lunch without having to leave the poolside, soaking up the views of rolling hills.

The property is centrally located between the Eden Project (6 miles) and Lanhydrock House (5 miles), both of which are worth a trip. If you're a golfer, Lanhydrock Golf Club is just 1.4 miles north of the National Trust house, so you could go for a round before your visit. Travel across the county to Newquay Zoo (19 miles), then move onto the Blue Reef Aquarium (20 miles), before heading to the beaches at Tolcarne (19 miles) and Fistral (20 miles). Whatever you decide to do, the central location of Old Windmill Cottage makes it easy to discover the best of Cornwall.

Windmill Cottage is a fab retreat for anyone wanting to have peace and quiet but also want to be in striking distance of towns, pubs and restaurants. Mel and Lawrie are the perfect hosts and went out of their way to ensure our stay (and puppy Busters) stay was perfect. Give this place a try...you wont be disappointed.

Just home after an amazing week in Cornwall, made all the more special by this beautiful cottage! The location is ideal for exploring all areas of the Duchy. The cottage has everything you need, and the pool was very welcoming after a day out. The hosts (including Ceasar the boxer) were everything you could ask for, so friendly and welcoming. Great cottage. Friendly hosts that are not intrusive. I just love Cornwall and this place was perfect to relax after a day out walking. The garden is fully fenced in so I was perfect for dog to run around in. And the cottage has a small gated area to itself on top of that for dog to get outside when he wants. Roads in are a little tight but this isRead more what most rural roads are like in Cornwall. Found an app called iWalk Cornwall which really we enjoyed, provided so many good walks in all areas. Stunning views from this beautiful cottage. Owners very friendly and helpful when needed. Single lane to cottage for about 3 miles with limited passing places having said that very little traffic.

Excellent position although you do wonder where you are going initially to find the property, being off the beaten track just enhances the peace and quiet. Decor and accommodation superb, everything you needed was supplied. Finally Mel and Laurie were excellent hosts.
