A spacious bolt hole for two, situated in the heart of the ancient boat building village of Polruan with river views and patio area, tucked away from the main street.

Tucked away behind Fore Street in picturesque Polruan, this romantic escape for two is full of quirky details that will make you smile. From the shiny ship's bell to the view of Fowey across the natural harbour of River Fowey from the living room window, it's all about the sea. You're also in an ideal spot for local beach days, heart-lifting walks along the South West Coast Path, and South Cornwall's day trip destinations.

The sense of playfulness in the property is clear with a colour palette straight from the coast, but also many interesting and beautiful ornaments and features. Outside on the private patio, tinted limewash stone walls have a pleasing texture and inside, the signature colours sit easily with natural wood furnishings. The bathroom recalls proper old-fashioned seaside days. A split level living/dining area makes the most of the river view so why not open the wine and watch the moored boats swing with the tide?

From your door it's a 200-metre stroll to shops, cafes, a friendly pub by The Quay, and a sandy village beach. Walk along the spectacular Polperro Heritage Coast section of the coast path to discover hidden coves, or venture inland for more tranquil routes around the harbour. Jump on the ferry to Fowey for boutique shopping, art galleries and fabulous seafood. The fascinating Eden Project is within 16 miles, and Charlestown Harbour, 18 miles away, evokes the romance of sail with its traditional ships and 18th century harbour.

Location

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
