A wonderful location overlooking a creek with a pontoon, which I used for my dinghy. A place to get away from it all with fabulous walks nearby. It is possible to walk round the creek and across some fields to get to the ferry to go to Fowey, but I had a dinghy so enjoyed a daily trip down the estuary. Suggest book in advance the boatyard opposite Read morefor bringing a dinghy on a trailer, because there is no parking for it or the trailer at the flat, even though there is space for double parking. Smugglers Loft was clean and well equipped, with amazing views of the estuary. The location is accessed down a narrow lane and is quiet and beautiful and days can be spent watching life go by at the boatyard. In the summer probably easier to get to Fowey and Polruan by hiring a boat. Lots of amazing walks - although watch out for the Cornish mile!

We found Smugglers loft very comfortable,it had wonderful views of the river. However, we were fortunate in being able bodied as there are 2 and a half flights of outside stairs not mentioned in the description. Also the 2 miles of narrow lanes of the approach were a bit of a nuisance, as was the cost of the ferry to Fowey (9return) if you wanted tRead moreo go on from there to more places. Hide

Would not recommend for young children It's a place you should be willing to drive every day to entertain them. Being on the edge of the water nd the only way out is up very steep hills and a long way to main road. Not really walkable.

Very clean. Fantastic views down the river to Fowey. Use of private pontoon. Everything provided at property. The only thing we didnt have a was a dishwasher at Smugglers Loft but not a problem for us. Use of lovely private garden at rear of property. Smugglers loft was a perfect holiday location. There was a nice touch with a cream tea, flowers and a pint of milk. The apartment was spotless. Although to arrive there was about two miles of very narrow country lanes to navigate but worth it once you arrived. A very enjoyable week. We will return.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
