A lovely country bolthole for two, this is one of four tastefully converted holiday cottages set amongst the magnificent grounds of a 23 acre country house estate with it's own lavender fields. Squirrel's Drey is an elevated romantic retreat within a short drive of spectacular beaches and coves and forms the perfect base from which to explore all the Lizard Peninsula has to offer. In this rural location the night skies are abundant with stars to see on a clear night, perfect for stargazers.

The immediate area is steeped in maritime and smuggling history and is renowned for having one of the best climates in England. Head towards the coast with the nearest beach being Poldhu Cove and it's lovely café. Visit traditional Cornish villages such as Mullion, Porthleven and Coverack, all just a short drive away. The South West Coast path can be joined direct from the property as it goes around the grounds and up the driveway! Attractions in the area include The Minack Theatre, National Seal Sanctuary, Flambards Theme Park, and the Tate Gallery at St Ives, to name just a few.

The property is approached by a flight of eight granite steps and on entering you step straight into a beautiful light and airy open-plan lounge/diner. There is a Smart TV with Netflix and a Ruark audio system with DAB radio, dining table and seating for two. The galley kitchen is well-equipped and offers an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Off the hallway is the bathroom with shower over bath and WC and then completing this charming snug is the spacious luxurious double bedroom. 

Within this 23 acre estate is a shared heated outdoor swimming pool (open from May to the end of September, weather permitting) with changing room and WC. Guests can meet the resident horse and sheep as well the curious chickens. On this country estate there are picnic areas, walks and access to public footpaths where there is an array of wildlife to discover. Lavender fields line the driveway and the scent and sight is gorgeous from June to September.

Great place to stay. The owners were very helpful and made sure we stayed safe when the weather got really bad. We hope to stay again soon!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Having use of the shared heated pool was great. Very generous welcome pack provided on arrival from friendly hosts Trish and Kev. Would definitely recommend and hope to return one day.

Fab place to base yourself from, fab accommodation, fab owners, greeted with a fab welcome surprise in accommodation, would recommend but not if its the week i want to return.

We had a lovely stay in our upstairs cottage and didn't want for anything. The cottage is one of several on the farm and we felt very much at home throughout our stay. This is a brilliant location to explore The Lizard and we went right across to St Ives, on the train from St Erth and drove to Sennen Cove. Plus there are the local beaches as well.

Tricky steps to the Cottage, loved the hens and all the wildlife which are very well looked after. So peaceful. The pool area was fabulous thanks for putting lovely new beds out for us.

We had an amazing holiday. The property is in a fantastic location for exploring southern Cornwall. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to visit somewhere different every day from the property. It is extremely affordable and we were pleasantly surprised at how affordable a 2 week holiday was.
