Originally built in the 18th century, this stunning home has been perfectly renovated to provide guests with a blend of luxury and comfort. The perfect romantic bolthole.

This cosy cottage, which was until recently part of the Lanhydrock Estate, provides guests with the ideal escape to enjoy a blend of the idyllic Cornish countryside and its golden sands and turquoise waters. It’s just a short drive to Padstow where you can indulge in Michelin-starred restaurants. Or choose to explore the historic Charlestown harbour which featured in Poldark, or Port Isaac, the haunt of Doc Martin, both within 18 miles away. The cottage is also in a prime position for guests to visit the well-renowned Eden Project, which is just 5 miles away, or you can walk to the National Trust’s Lanhydrock House and gardens. Finally, even closer to home, those walkers and cyclists amongst you are well catered for, having easy access to the Camel Trail, Bodmin Moor and Cardinham Woods. For golfers, the Lanhydrock Golf Course and restaurant is under a mile away. The property is close to the A30, allowing easy access to South Cornwall including Land’s End, St Michael’s Mount and St Ives.

Upon entering the cottage, you will immediately be enticed by a mix of luxury and charm. With space to hang your coat and walking poles provided, you have everything you need to enjoy the surrounding trails. The kitchen space is well equipped including an electric range cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer, whilst there is also a dining table fit for two to enjoy a romantic meal. Making your way through to the lounge space, you will notice those creature comfort features such as a Smart TV, PlayStation 4, a comfortable sofa, an additional chair and of course a wood burner (first basket of logs provided) to cosy up and really relax into the evenings. Moving back through the home, you will find your way to the bedroom which contains a king-size bed and plenty of wardrobe space too. If the Smart TV in the lounge wasn’t enough, you have an additional Smart TV in this room also. This room then leads directly onto the cottage bathroom, which provides a choice of a spa bath or a separate shower, and a WC.

Outside, the fully enclosed garden, which is a real sun trap, is incredibly well designed to contain all those features needed to make the most of any sunny day or starry night. Take a dip in the hot tub, catch a tan on the sun loungers, enjoy the summer house whatever the weather or even light the flames on either the fire pit or BBQ provided. There is no doubt this space can be enjoyed any time of day. There is private parking for 1 car.

A charming cottage for two people, a pretty courtyard garden, with all amenities including hot-tub. Compact inside, but very comfortable and well, if not over, equipped.

We enjoyed a great week at The Churns with our dog. A beautifully furnished cottage in a lovely rural location and a fantastic base for exploring the whole of North Cornwall. Wonderfully equipped, impressive garden, a pleasure to return to after long days out. We hope to visit again!

Our stay at The Churns was perfect, the cottage and garden were beautifully kept, all mod cons that you could need, good parking, easy to find. All in all perfect we'd definitely recommend it and stay again.

Wow was our first impression and wow was pretty much how it remained. Absolutely perfect, it had everything. From decor to location, we both wanted to move in.......what more can you say. I have to say we could of just stayed in the cottage all week given sunnier weather. Well done to the owners, we definitely have to come back.

We had a very relaxing happy week in Cornwall with the Churn as our base. It is as lovely, cosy and convenient as it is advertised. Its decoration is of very good taste and the facilities provided are excellent.

Lovely little cottage. Perfect for me and my labrador. The sofa and bed was very comfortable, the facilities were top notch in the kitchen with a wide range of equipment (not your usual blunt knives in a holiday cottage!). Everything was clean and cosy. Right on the doorstep is a lovely walk into a national park, really good location for travellingRead more around Cornwall and exploring the beaches. Hosts were very attentive, replied to my emails promptly and provided a great home away from home. Hide

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
