Set in the small, picturesque town of Stratton, this impressive former court house offers the perfect relaxing and peaceful holiday, yet is within a few minutes drive from the seaside town of Bude with its sandy beaches and amenities.

This impressive former courthouse is stylish and elegant, offering a peaceful haven for stolen weekends and holidays near the Cornish coast. Spend summer mornings chatting over fresh coffee and croissants on the patio, before heading down to one of Bude's golden beaches for fun in the sun. After a day of building sandcastles, splashing in the sea and copious amounts of ice cream, there'll be nothing cosier than retreating to the warmth of The Courthouse and unfurling on the sofa.

The interiors are decorated in a clean, contemporary style with crisp whites and pops of refreshing colour. Large feature windows combined with spacious, open-plan living areas create a light, bright space in which to unwind. Whether tucking into a home-cooked Sunday lunch in the sociable dining area or winding down in one of the cosy bedrooms complete with exposed beams and pitched ceilings, there's plenty of room to relax.

Wander into Bude, 2 miles away, where there are three sandy beaches to choose from, as well as a tidal pool, golf course, and a selection of fine eateries and shops to pick up a memento of your stay. There are many more charming fishing villages to explore nearby including Clovelly (16 miles), Tintagel (20 miles), Boscastle (15 miles) and Port Isaac (26 miles), while walkers are sure to enjoy the dramatic views from the South West Coast Path or the Tamar Lakes (6 miles), with its water sports, stunning scenery and superb fishing.

The Old Court House is in a good location near Bude, it was clean and well equipped. The parking is a bit dodgy especially in a big car. We found the beds to be really uncomfortable. It is a very quiet village so you will hear the nearby church clock chiming every 15 minutes and striking the hour. Buy everything you need as apart from salt and peppRead moreer nothing else was provided, you are normally able to make a first cup of tea in most cottages we have rented and some even provide cake or biscuits. Lovely holiday home, great for families and plenty to do nearby. We took our teenage daughter and our 3 year old, we usually find it hard to keep them both happy but we all had a fantastic time and the courthouse was comfortable, clean, well equipped and easy to find.

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
