This beautifully contemporary property has been built to high sustainability standards yet draws inspiration from the existing Victorian houses and quaint beach huts found in the local area.

Drawing inspiration from the grand Victorian houses and colourful beach huts in the local area, The Light House is contemporary, spacious and characterful. By day, there are several sandy beaches, coastal walks and a golf course to enjoy nearby and as night falls, families can look forward to hot chocolates by the toasty wood burner or snuggling under blankets on one of the balconies looking out to sea.

Boasting a clean palette of crisp whites with pops of colour throughout, this is a stylish abode where the whole family will feel at home. Floor to ceiling windows spill natural sunlight into the open-plan living areas, making the interior feel bright and fresh. On a fine day, lounge on the deck chairs in the enclosed garden and bask in the Cornish sunshine, before settling down to a light lunch around the dining table with a backdrop of the sea through the unique low-profile window.

Walk the South West Coast Path to discover spectacular coastal scenery, or explore the mysterious Bodmin Moor (31 miles) passing by trickling streams and freely roaming ponies. For a family-friendly day out, head to the Eden Project (39 miles) which is home to the largest indoor rainforest in the world, or sample seafood delights in the charming fishing villages of Clovelly (17 miles), Boscastle (15 miles), Rock (31 miles) and Padstow (36 miles).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £250 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

The house is just 300 metres from Crooklets Beach and from endless blustery walks along the South West Coast Path too. Older families can walk 3.5 miles along the coast path to Widemouth Bay for some excellent rock pooling at low tide and a well-deserved Cornish ice cream before the return trip, and there are plenty of shorter strolls in the area for younger kids. Walk half a mile along the coast to Summerleaze Beach and its popular tidal pool, and follow the canal back into town, or wander half a mile direct from the house to shops, restaurants and several museums and galleries. When you're ready for a day out, pack up the car and head to Clovelly, 17 miles away, and walk the quaint cobbled streets before enjoying a spot of crabbing off the harbour, or taking a boat ride along the shoreline. The kids will love catching the bumpy jeep taxi back up the steep road to the car park.

Perfect location and exactly what we wanted for our first visit to Cornwall. I would highly recommend this place as a lovely relaxing place to stay, a stones throw from the beach, perfect.

The location is amazing. The accommodation is basic. You will need to supply everything as there is not anything there in way of supplies eg: toilet rolls, salt, milk etc.

Great location, close to sea and very easy walking to all amenities, restaurants etc. Perfect property for family seaside holiday - very comfortable. Great views to sea and over golf course - grandstand view of 4th hole. The house seemed to have everything that might be required, but much of this remained unused by us as weather was so good. Great contemporary house. A couple of minor comments - the dishwasher did not always perform well - it appeared to need salt etc. - the seating in the lounge may not turn out to be strong enough too. We are likely to return next Easter holiday.

This is a wonderful location for anyone wanting a holiday where you dont need a car. Brilliant for walking, body boarding, surfing or just lazing on the beaches. House is equipped for just about all your needs. Our only complaints being a lack of seating in the lounge for more than 4 adults.

Map
Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
