A delightful cottage, situated in a fantastic central location and short distance from the railway line, with delightful views and a host of walks right from the doorstep.

Whisk away your loved one for a romantic getaway for two – plus the dogs – in this cosy cottage in the small Cornish town of St Blazey. With a warming wood burner in the lounge and a south-facing patio garden outside, this is a great choice for year-round getaways. Its central location makes this a handy property for couples hoping to abandon the car for a few days, with a host of amenities, a dog-friendly beach and mainline train station connecting to St Austell (3.5 miles), Camborne (33.5 miles) and Penzance (46.5 miles) within 2 miles of the front door.

Inside, this modern hideaway has all the right ingredients for a romantic retreat. Cook up a storm in the stylish kitchen, kitted out with everything you could need, before tucking into a candlelit meal at the dining table in the lounge. Afterwards, hunker down on the cosy sofa and settle in for a night in front of the TV while your four-legged friend keeps warm beside the roaring wood burner. Finished in serene neutral tones and with a large window framing the distant countryside views, the double bedroom is a welcoming space to retire to after a long day spent exploring this beautiful county. Outside, the sunny patio garden is a pleasant spot for enjoying a morning cup of coffee while planning the day ahead.

Set out on foot from the property to find a host of amenities on the doorstep, including takeaways, village shops, cafes and pubs. A 2-mile walk will bring you to Spit Beach and Par Sands, which both welcome dogs all year round. From here, you can join the scenic South West Coast Path, heading east towards the picturesque town of Fowey (5 miles) or west towards the Georgian working port of Charlestown (2.5 miles). Head inland to visit the magnificent Eden Project (1.5 miles) or south for The Lost Gardens of Heligan (11.5 miles), or take to the green with a round on one of the four nearby championship golf courses including Carlyon Bay (2 miles) and Porthpean (4 miles).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Prophets House is extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is very light and airy with a small outside sunny patio. It is well positioned; buses to Fowey, trains from Par to St Ives to mention a few and walks to Par beach, supermarket and chip shop. We found this to be an excellent property.

A gem of a property. Perfect for two and fantastically located for visiting in any direction of Cornwall. Beautiful views from every window and a lovely secluded patio area to the side. Will definitely be looking to stay here again

We found the cottage very comfortable and well equipped would be a real struggle for anyone with mobility problems though perhaps should be made more clear the amount of steps to get up to it not a problem for us but could be for others

Very quiet and comfortable and perfectly located - the owners provide suggestions, reviews and maps of the many walks and other things you can do close by. They also provide everything you could probably need - you only need to pack clothes and toiletries; there is a large Coop 5 minutes away. Good selection of books about Cornwall and DVDs

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
