  • Cosy hideaway within the Grade II former Rectory
  • Ideal for couples looking for a smart and stylish base from which to explore although not suitable if you have difficulties with mobility
  • A mix of traditional features but with a contemporary feel
  • A perfect place to explore the whole of North Cornwall and Devon
Property code: 75045

A complex of cottages that sit at the end of a private drive, located on the edge of the charming village of Kilkhampton, this is the ideal spot from which you can explore all North Cornwall and Devon.

Perfectly placed on the edge of the village of Kilkhampton which offers a choice of two traditional inns, village stores, a great selection of takeaways and easy access onto the A39. The popular seaside town of Bude is just slightly further afield and boasts a wide range of independent shops, restaurants, bars and a choice of three sandy beaches plus many more leisure facilities. Alternatively, head further along the coast on either the Cornish or Devon side and explore the rugged coastline and numerous picturesque fishing villages such as Hartland, Clovelly, Boscastle and Port Isaac. Other attractions accessible from here include Trethorne Leisure Park and Tamar Lakes offering a wealth of water sports, superb fishing and great walks.

This cute and quirky split-level cottage is ideal for couples, with exposed beams and many character features, it’s a great base from which to explore the whole of North Cornwall and Devon. Entering the cottage through the low stable door (mind your head!), you are greeted by a sunken lounge area accessed down a few steps. It’s a cosy space with comfy seating, electric wood burner effect stove, shelves filled with books and a large Smart TV. Heading back up the steps to the landing area you then continue down a couple of steps into the spacious kitchen/diner with electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. A dining table and chairs makes for easy mealtimes. The bathroom has a bath with shower over and WC. We do suggest the property is better suited to the more active as the staircase up to the mezzanine level where you will find a cosy yet comfortable double bed is steep and slightly narrow.

Stepping outside there is an open area with garden furniture and charcoal BBQ. There is off-road parking for one car. Guests have access to a shared laundry room with tumble drier which also provides secure storage for wet suits surfboards, bikes etc.

  • 1 Bedroom – double accessed via steep stairs pictured in photos 1 and 3
  • 1 Bathroom
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, ice box and washing machine
  • Shared laundry room with tumble drier
  • Off-road parking for 1 car
  • Complex of 3 properties
  • Beach 3 miles, pubs and shops walking distance
  • Charcoal BBQ
  • Smart TV in lounge and echo dot
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 1 dog allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £150 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £20. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

The property was very small and very nice we had a great holiday. The only problem was it is not very suitable for people over 80 as you have to climb a very steep ladder to get to the bedroom Trevor ( 80 ) & Jo ( 77 )

The Old Rectory and grounds were beautiful, we visited the calves every morning and evening in the field beyond the Haha wall whilst walking our dog. We stayed in the Stables which was small but it had everything you need. We took advantage of the Pizza parlour and Chip shop and New inn while there and can recommend all. A lovely holiday. Hide

We had a wonderful week at the Stables (19/6/23),, proper home from home. Clean and very comfortable for two. Kirkhampton is a short walk for any needs, highly recommend the steaks at the London Inn. Location was great for many attractions.

We stayed at The Stable which was in a great location for sightseeing. Lovely welcome pack and a few essentials in the kitchen, milk, tea & coffee. This was a beautiful little cottage in the perfect location for exploring Bude and the surrounding areas. Arrival was made really easy by the owners and a welcome basket was left with a few treats. Although very compact inside, it has everything you could need for for your stay. I would definitely recommend.
