Grade II Listed barn, with original features throughout, on this rural idyll with ponies, pig, hens and sheep, play area and indoor play barn with easy access to the Cornish coast.

This comfortable single-level holiday property is a careful conversion of a Grade II-listed stone-built barn. It's one of four properties on a peaceful 20-acre farm, 5 miles from pretty Boscastle. An ideal getaway for medium-sized families, it has many shared facilities - a games barn, soft play room and outdoor play area. Children can meet and help to feed the resident farm animals: sheep, a characterful pig, hens and ponies. You're perfectly placed 5 miles from the rugged North Cornish coast, with great places to visit there and inland.

Original features reveal the rustic past: solid timber beams, exposed stonework, and the wide barn doorways are now large windows onto the shared garden - this cleverly links indoors and outdoors, bringing that fresh green countryside light inside. Furnishings are comfortable with cottage style and cheerful colours. The open-plan dining/living area has a wood burner for cooler evenings. Outside, explore the grounds, discover the ‘secret garden' complete with firepit for after-dark gatherings, or spark up the BBQ for sunny afternoon feasts.

Locally, you can walk to Bodmin Moor on footpaths about 3 miles away, including some typical ‘hollow-ways' or sunken lanes. The nearest beach is Bossiney Cove 7 miles away, and a trip to Boscastle, with traditional stone buildings and picturesque river, is a must. Tintagel, also on the coast 7 miles away, will captivate you with its Arthurian myth and mystery. On the Pentire Point and Widemouth Heritage Coast, the South West Coast Path has clifftop routes with breathtaking views.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The cottage was amazing! Home from home and they were so welcoming. My children adored the animals and they even let them walk the dogs on the last day. Definitely be back again.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
