Grade II Listed roundhouse, with vaulted ceilings, exposed stonework, beams and trusses, on this rural idyll with ponies, pig, hens and sheep, play area and indoor play barn with easy access to the Cornish coast.

This character property's stand-out feature is its amazing double-height living/dining room: a Grade II-listed traditional Cornish hexagonal roundhouse. It's one of four properties on a 20-acre farm, set in rural peace 5 miles from pretty Boscastle on the North Cornish coast. It has plenty of space for family time together, and access to shared facilities - a games barn, soft play room and outdoor play area. Children will love meeting the resident farm animals: sheep, a very personable pig, hens and ponies. You're also ideally placed to explore North Cornwall's varied attractions.

The roundhouse has a spectacular radial-pitched ceiling and barn-sized garden doors to let the light flood in. Solid timber beams throughout and exposed stonework show the solid structure recalling the past. The feel overall is comfort and homely cottage style. You are welcome to wander the grounds – there's a ‘secret garden' where, after dark, you can gather around the firepit to tell stories. While children roam, adults can sample local craft ales or host a BBQ.

From the door you can walk to Bodmin Moor over 3 miles of footpaths, or further afield drive to Bolventor in the middle of the moor where there's a great circular walk – why not dine afterwards at romantic Jamaica Inn? For a beach day, sheltered Bossiney Cove is 7 miles away. Boscastle and Tintagel are 7 miles away and wreathed in myth and legend are ideal for a seaside visit, and clifftop walks along the South West Coast Path have inspiring views.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
