Property code: WEBAR

A beautifully quirky cottage surrounded by moorland, lovingly decorated by the creative owners to blend traditional and retro design, making it perfect for a relaxing retreat with a loved one.

This bijou stone cottage set in deepest Bodmin Moor is the very definition of a peaceful holiday retreat. With its inverted level and stunning views across the landscape to Bodmin Moor, there is lots of charm to this truly individual property. This is the ultimate escape for those hoping to leave their busy lives behind.

With unique qualities like a projector to watch films and a traditional wood burner, West Candra is perfect for those looking for a techno-detox. Traditional cottage stylings are blended with North African flourishes in the bathroom and a state-of-art heating system will keep you warm and happy throughout your stay. Located in a farmyard with a firepit and a wild garden, you really get a true sense of life deep in the countryside.

West Candra Barn is remote because it is on Bodmin Moor within sight of Rough Tor and Brown Willy. The closest village shop and pub are in Saint Breward (2.5 miles). Pack your walking boots and follow the south western route to the highest point in Cornwall to enjoy the emptiness and unspoilt expanses of wild moor, full of native critters and natural scenes. Further afield is the foodie haven of Padstow and the upmarket marina town of Rock (both under 18 miles).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Stunning location. A true escape from reality. Anybody with a low car needs to know that the approach to the cottage is a farm track.

Lovely peaceful location right on Bodmin Moor. Cottage is clean and comfortable with great walks right from the door and close to lovely beaches. It's worth noting that whilst listed as having an enclosed garden this is attached to the house next door and not dog proof. There are horses and sheep wandering around which is lovely but worth consideriRead moreng if you are bringing a dog as they will need to stay on a lead. Hide

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
