The Fort

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with tidal creeks, sandy beaches and rolling countryside Whitsand Bay Fort is a truly breathtaking place to explore and relax in.

Set a few miles west of the ‘Ocean City’ Plymouth, the Fort itself is an original Napoleonic costal defence fort and an English Heritage Designated Ancient Monument. The Fort retains many original features including gun emplacements and hidden tunnels dating back to the Victorian era which can be explored in one of our weekly tours.

Alternatively explore the long sandy beaches of Whitsand Bay, a stunning dog friendly beach monitored by the local RNLI lifeguard team. Enjoy relaxing walks through beautiful scenery, picnics and bonfires on the beach, the small fishing villages of Kingsand & Cawsand and the stately homes at Antony & Mount Edgcumbe. There are also seasonal foot passenger ferries to take day trips over to the ‘Ocean City’ of Plymouth. It’s impossible to get bored with so much to see and do!
