Visit Camborne

The ruined stacks and engine houses are all that remain as evidence of the past wealth of Camborne. During the 18th century, the historic town was one of the richest mining towns in the world, and the history of this is still apparent as you explore the town and its surrounding area during your Cornwall holiday. Spend your time learning its history, seeing the beauty of the landscape, and visiting the wonderful monthly market.

A well-connected town

Located south-west of Redruth in West Cornwall, there’s much to do in both Camborne and the surrounding area. Just north of the town is Tehidy Country Park, a 250-acre woodland park teeming with wildlife, footpaths and cycle trails. There is plenty of sand and surf to enjoy at Portreath and Porthtowan, or, if you feel really adventurous, explore the North Cliffs, also known as Deadman’s Cove, which is thought to be haunted. St Ives, its art scene, surfing beaches and picturesque harbour, is also just a 30-minute drive away.

The town is well-connected, with a train station and bus station allowing passage to the rest of the county, while the mixture of high street and independent shops in the main town, along with a great range of restaurants and pubs, will keep you busy for hours.
