This light and airy character cottage is located close to the border of Devon and Cornwall, making it the perfect base to explore these two beautiful counties. Those who enjoy the great outdoors will be very happy here, as you can leave the property on foot and enjoy several miles of woodland and riverside walks in the surrounding area and down to the coast at Marsland Mouth. Just three miles away is a 13th Century pub, The Bush Inn, which is known for its local produce and ales. The town of Bude is a short drive away and offers several beaches, a range of restaurants, cafes, and bars, as well as a mini-golf course and a lovely tidal pool, which means there is always safe bathing, whatever the conditions out at sea.

This attractive cottage is deceptively spacious yet has a cosy, homely feel with many period features and the welcoming owners will greet you with a delicious cream tea on arrival. The front door opens straight into the lounge, where guests will immediately notice the original inglenook fireplace which now houses the wood burner; complimentary baskets of firewood are supplied so you can really make the most of the warmth it offers. Comfortable sofas here mean that guests can relax and enjoy the smart TV and DVD, for which there is a range of DVDs to choose from. The dining area is located just off the lounge and from here the separate bespoke, country style kitchen is accessed by three uneven steps up. The kitchen has a beamed ceiling and is well-equipped with a farmhouse style breakfast table, range oven with hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The property’s two bedrooms are located on the first floor via stairs from the lounge. The first, a double, benefits from an en-suite shower room and WC. The second is a twin room and there is a shared bathroom with a bath, separate shower, and WC.

Outside, the property has an enclosed patio area to the front with seating and to the rear, another patio area which has outdoor seating and a BBQ. There is secure storage for bikes is also available.

We were met at Mannings Barn by Mrs Putt who showed us around the barn. Beautifully laid tables and fresh flowers greeted us, as well as a cream tea. Everything you could possibly need was there. We had a few fires with plentiful wood supplies. Very quiet roads to walk our dog, and several footpaths if you're feeling fit too, some hilly. The cottage was in a fab location for beaches within Devon and Cornwall. The owners were very helpful with the surrounding area and local knowledge.

The cottage was fantastic in every respect. So cosy, well furnished, with a lovely log fire. The farmhouse kitchen was ideal too...and stocked with absolutely everything we needed. The hosts were a lovely couple and the welcoming cream scone tea and wine was a lovely gesture. we had a week of rain so that does somewhat put a downer on the holiday but the cottage was lovely. Didn't want for anything except sunshine. would highly recommend.

A delightfully quirky converted barn in a charming hamlet. Really rural and peaceful. Perfect for chilling out but within easy reach of Bude. There is a bus that runs once a day. The Coop in Kilkhampton is well stocked and not far. Chris and Mary are very friendly and do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable, nothing is too much trouble. A delightful and cleverly renovated farm building situated in a sleepy hamlet. The owners are proud of their property, and rightly so. Plenty of space inside, low beams upstairs, and very well equipped, WiFi and good television reception. The sunny patio garden is securely fenced on one side, high wall opposite, making it a safe space for my dog.

This is a beautiful cottage in a lovely location. The area is quite off the beaten track but perfect for ultimate relaxation! The hosts were more than perfect and very accommodating. This is somewhere we will return!

The owners are extremely welcoming and friendly. An excellent roomy property in a very peaceful location which was well prepared and clean. We had a very good holiday which was enjoyed by us all, the children loved the beaches in the area and the wonderful weather helped to create a perfect holiday.

The owners were wonderful and really made us feel welcome. The gardens (front and back) were peaceful to sit, read and enjoy a cup of tea. The cottage was comfortable and clean. The dogs enjoyed the woodland walks to the beach. Would definitely recommend this cottage for a relaxing holiday.

Wow, just wow. This cottage is special in so many ways from the lovely front and back gardens, the characterful, homely cottage and most importantly the lovely owners. Located in a lovely spot, away from the stresses of everyday living this cottage has everything you need. We will definitely be making a return visit.
