Polruan is an historic village famous for its boat building heritage. Perfectly positioned on the Fowey river estuary, which is a thriving centre for fishing, seafaring, shipbuilding and agriculture. The villages remoteness gives the area an unspoilt charm with its narrow streets better suited to horse and cart then modern-day cars, flights of slate steps twist between the houses. There are two village pubs and a passenger ferry that takes you across to neighbouring town of Fowey. Further afield there are plenty of places to explore, why not visit the tall ships at Charlestown, take the brewery tour in St Austell or visit the Eden project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Visit Lanhydrock House or take the dog for a run at the trials at Cardinham Woods near Bodmin.
