Located on a narrow rural lane near the Cornish border, this magnificent home is ideal for a special reunion with friends/family. Sleeping 17 across eight bedrooms, it’s nestled amongst tranquil countryside, but is also close to the dramatic Hartland Cornwall Heritage Coast. Only a few miles away, the secluded beaches of Welcombe and Marsland are connected by the picturesque South West Coast Path. There’s also the option to relax at home, with a heated outdoor pool in summer, a private hot tub and a games room. This house really does have it all.
The property has been sympathetically renovated, with many original features still intact, and the owners have paid careful attention to detail to ensure every room has its own style and character. At the heart of the home is a large, well-equipped kitchen/diner with plenty of space for everyone. There are two lounges, separated by a secret door, so that all generations can relax in their own way, whether that’s with a good book in front of a roaring fire or in front of the TV. There is also a bunk bedroom on the ground floor, but the other bedrooms are on the first floor with the bathrooms, all of which are finished to an exquisite standard to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep. Outside, there is a heated pool, a hot tub and a spacious garden.
This is a great base from which to explore North Devon and North Cornwall, including the beautiful coastline. You’ll never tire of the impressive cliffs, sandy beaches and spectacular sea views, whether you’re at Sandymouth (11 miles), Hartland Quay (9.5 miles) or in the popular seaside town of Bude. Here, you’ll find a canal, beaches and independent shops/eateries. For something different, take the circular route from Morwenstow (8 miles) to the National Trust’s smallest property, Hawker’s Hut.
