Situated on the harbour side of the village with outstanding harbour and river views this property is just wonderful. Polruan is an ancient fishing village famous for its boat building heritage. Perfectly positioned on the Fowey river estuary, which is a thriving centre for fishing, seafaring, shipbuilding and agriculture. There are two village pubs, the highly rated Lugger Inn restaurant, a café, a bakery, a village shop and a passenger ferry that will take you across to Fowey. Further afield there are plenty of places to visit and things to do. Why not visit the Adrenaline Quarry or tall ships at Charlestown, take the brewery tour in St Austell or visit the Eden project and/or the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Also for those interested in stately homes why not visit Lanhydrock in Bodmin.

The property is easily accessed from the picturesque and car-free Sydney Hill through a wooden door that leads onto a broad patio with stunning views of the harbour. There is a main door to a hallway with two reception rooms to the left and the dining room and kitchen to the right. The dining room has beautiful views over the river. Behind the dining room is a fully equipped kitchen with an electric hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and Nespresso machine. Turning left from the hallway is the sitting room with an electric feature fireplace and again views over the water. The second lounge comes with comfy seating, a Smart TV, the perfect spot to curl up after a day of exploring Polruan and south Cornwall. Off this room is a very handy utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Back into the lounge is a staircase that takes you up into the master bedroom with a king-size bed, stunning views and an en-suite shower room with WC. Making your way back down through the lounge areas is a second staircase where you will find the other two twin bedrooms both light and bright with water views. The main bathroom can also be found on this floor with hand held shower attachment over bath and WC.

Outside is a beautiful patio area with garden furniture and a good size lawn area that overlooks the river Fowey. Both the utility room and kitchen have doors to the rear entrance on Hockens Lane. Cars can be unloaded outside the property on Hockens Lane where there is private off-street parking for one large car and two garages for regular size cars. There is also parking in the local St Saviours car park a short walk from the cottage (subject to availability)

  • 3 bedrooms - 1 king-size and 2 twin rooms
  • 2 bathrooms - 1 en-suite shower room and WC and 1 bathroom with hand held shower attachment over bath and WC

  • Utility with washing machine and tumble dryer (please note that shower cubicle in utility is not connected and cannot be used)
  • Travel cot and highchair available
  • Smart TV in the lounge
  • Private parking for either 2 standard size cars or 1 larger SUV size car, 2 garages can be used as well
  • There is also parking in the local St Saviours car park a short walk for the cottage (subject to availability and charges)

A lovely cottage with an amazing view over the harbour and across to Fowey. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here (2 adults, 2 children 11 and 14, 1 dog). Very nice welcome treats on arrival and everything was clean, comfortable and in good condition. Friendly village with shop, cafe, bakers and 2 welcoming pubs. A fantastic location - an absolute joy taking in the view. Easy ferry trip to Fowey for restaurants and beach. Those of you reading previous comments about the low wall need not worry as a lovely glass screen has been installed to give a 'wall' without affecting the great views. We have had a perfect two week stay at this charming cottage. The location was ideal and we enjoyed going out on walks or catching the ferry to Fowey and Mevagissey. We also caught the local bus to Polperro which is a lovely place to visit. We would also recommend a trip out to Bodmin jail, it was not at all what I expected and well worth the moneyRead more. There are two local pubs. The Lugger inn needs to be booked for meals. Both pubs are in walking distance. Loved our stay in Polruan. Hide

Amazing view from garden. Property nice and roomy. Polruan is a lovely little village, although the steep streets and steps can be challenging. Ferry to Fowey very useful.

Lovely area but difficult to drive to/park at. This aspect changed our plans for the trip as we did not feel able to take the car out frequently. Very easy to get the ferry across to Fowey which is a lovely day out. The view from the property is lovely. Garden not suitable for children/dogs, but especially the former. The wall is only a foot or twoRead more high with a long drop the other side, so not ideal with young children. Hide

This cottage is in a lovely location with fantastic views. The cottage itself was very clean and had a well equipped kitchen and nice bathrooms. There are the expected quirks from such an old property like very steep stairs, odd patch of damp, low door frames ( watch your head). The outside space and uncomfortable garden furniture let this propertyRead more down a bit, which is a shame as it could be wonderful. Hide

If you have a larger car you may need to reverse down the narrow lane that accesses the property as with other cars parked in their parking spaces in the lane there is no where to turn round.
