St Ives New Year's Eve events

St Ives New Year's Eve fireworks

The New Year's Eve celebrations that take place in St Ives mean that the town is considered to be one of the top locations to see in the New Year.

The streets are closed for traffic around the harbour front, which is traditionally heaving with people, and if the tide goes out then everyone spills onto the beach for a unique beach party.

Fancy dress and party atmosphere play a large part in the festivities and after the countdown, the bells ring and one of the best New Year's Eve fireworks events in Cornwall commences, providing a dramatic display over the beaches and town of St. Ives.

The festivities begin at around 8 pm and last long into the night offering a fantastic family-friendly event!

Newquay New Year's Eve events

Newquay

Like St Ives, Newquay also has a thriving party atmosphere as the New Year approaches, and fancy dress is also essential for really getting into the festivities.

The main focal point here is the 30-minute firework display that starts at midnight. This is no small show, with the dazzling lights coming from the harbour and visible from all around the area.

So however you like to take in the New Year in Cornwall; making the most of the pubs and clubs, wandering along the beach as a family or tucked up at home with a hot chocolate, the fireworks cannot be missed.

Looe New Year's Eve events

Looe New Year's Eve fireworks

In keeping with Cornwall's carnival atmosphere, the people of Looe also love a party at New Year.

Fancy dress is considered a must – prepare to look very out of place if wearing normal clothes – and the party spreads through the whole town.

It's not only the revellers who dress up - the town's buildings and even the boats on the harbour are adorned with cheery lights to help brighten up the occasion.

Unlike other events in Cornwall, Looe has two firework displays, one at 6pm and one at midnight. This really gets the party started, but this also allows families to be more involved as little children can take in the firework show earlier rather than waiting around until midnight.

Falmouth New Year's Eve events

Falmouth

Seaside Falmouth comes alive on New Year’s Eve. Enjoy a street party like no other in this pretty seaside town.

Just like St Ives and Newquay, many guests will arrive in their best fancy dress outfits and the local boats and buildings are festively decorated especially for the New Year in Cornwall.

There's live music to be enjoyed along with a momentous New Year's Eve firework display that photogenically reflects onto the river from the nearby embankment.
