Falmouth is the perfect place to enjoy a holiday. Whether you love exploring miles of coastal path, sitting harbourside watching colourful boats gliding by, or simply relaxing on a sandy beach, you will be sure to find it with a stay at By the Brook. Pack your racquet for a game of tennis in the all-weather courts and your swimwear for a dip in the shared pool or hot tub, both the perfect way to end a day spent exploring the local area. The sandy beaches of Maenporth and Swanpool are just 1 mile away for great days out at the beach.

In an idyllic spot by a running stream, this cottage forms part of an exclusive village resort. The bright and airy open-plan interior offers a welcoming ambience, with warm tones in the living space and nautical touches dotted throughout. Relax in your own private garden with a BBQ or take little ones down to the wooden play areas, pool, and gardens shared with the other cottages, then have a bite to eat in the welcoming clubhouse.

With an interesting calendar of events, including the annual Oyster Festival, Falmouth offers lots of reasons to stay in the town. Surf shops vie for space with potteries and galleries, and the area has a fascinating maritime heritage. Take a boat trip running from the pier and quay to see the town from a different vantage point, or explore further out with trips to the National Trust's Lizard Point, 24 miles away, and the cathedral city of Truro, 11 miles away.

We had a lovely family week long break here. The house was well-equipped especially the kitchen and nicely decorated. On-site facilities were helpful with the kids. We would recommend this house and would look to book again. Enjoy!

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
