One of five houses on a 23-acre estate with a working smallholding, Nanplough Country House is the epitome of relaxation. Mornings start with a refreshing dip in the shared outdoor heated swimming pool before catching some Cornish rays on the patio, while kids go wild in the outdoor play area and meet the farm's resident livestock. Picnic areas provide the perfect spot to savour a basket of scones, clotted cream and jam, while a myriad of walking trails provide the opportunity to burn off the calories afterwards.

Comfortable and contemporary, the interiors are elegantly decorated in soothing tones with great attention to detail. Expect exposed stone walls, wooden beams and feature windows boasting mesmerising views. As dusk falls, gather around the flickering flames of the wood burner or indulge in a glass of fizz in the master bedroom's free-standing bath, watching the sun melt into the countryside.

Located on the spectacular Lizard Peninsula, the immediate area is steeped in maritime and smuggling history and is renowned for having one of the best climates in England. Head towards the coast and visit the picture-postcard coves of Mullion (4 miles) and Poldhu (2.2 miles). Enjoy a fish supper in the quaint fishing village of Porthleven, then wander along the scenic South West Coast Path as the evening draws in. Absolutely brilliant place. We were a group of ten and all were impressed with the house in every way. Owners were so lovely and our welcome pack and tea was such a nice unexpected touch. We had a great week.

The farmhouse was spacious, clean and very well equipped with excellent modern equipment. We were a family of 10 including 4 children. During our stay there were no complaints from anyone. The house, the grounds, the pool and hot tub were all maintained to an excellent standard. I will happily return for another holiday in the future.

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
