1 of 2 properties nestled in a lovely rural setting, this sympathetically converted barn offers character, space and plenty of activities to keep everyone busy.

There aren't many holiday cottages that can boast their own climbing wall, play barn, and indoor heated swimming pool. Shared with its neighbour, Skiber Long, you could always book both cottages and get the whole family involved. Set on a working farm just 6 miles from the historic town of Launceston, the house offers river fishing onsite; with so many activities available back at base alongside the incredible Cornish landscape to explore, you'll never find it hard to plan a full-filled day for all the family.

The farmhouse-style kitchen is separated from a cosy living area by charming exposed beams, which continue throughout the property. Situated on the upper floor, taking advantage of lush country views, the living area also opens out to a balcony. Down in the shared gardens below, you will find the perfect spot for an evening BBQ; dine alfresco on warm summer evenings, while the kids make a splash in the pool. At the end of the day, sink into a bubble bath in the roll-top tub then crawl into bed for a good night's sleep.

Fishing on the River Inny is a highlight for keen anglers. You are also 18 miles from the pretty southern harbour of Looe, and Polperro (22 miles away). If you're keen to give surfing a go, a 30-mile drive will take you up to the rugged coastline of North Cornwall. Days out include the fascinating National Marine Aquarium and bracing walks across Dartmoor National Park, both within 25 miles.

A lovely cottage with a lovely view in a great location for peace and quiet but still lots around to do. Theres a beautifully maintained walk from the cottage down to the river and the games room / indoor pool was perfect for the kids if it rained. It was everything we wanted and Im sure well return.

Remote location, great for country views - central to everything close to nothing. Swimming pool certainly helped with the lack of local attractions and poor wifi. On the plus side the hosts were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this property if you want peace and quiet.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Skiber Coombe cottage. Sue and Adi were very welcoming and helpful with local information. The cottage itself was comfortable and very clean, with all the amenities you would expect. Our two children loved having a pool to play in each day, and there was plenty of outside space for them to enjoy as well. The location Read moreis perfect for venturing out to different beaches and tourist attractions and we would highly recommend The Hidden Valley. A fab holiday! Hide

Very difficult to give a fair review as we knew the pool and games room were not available due to government guidelines. Hosts were available to interact and discuss any issues that arose. Home is set off the beaten path so be prepared to travel to get to activities. We utilised a food delivery (Tesco) on the day of arrival which worked well. As thRead moree property hadnt been used for a period of months it needed a good airing. Overall a good experience. Hide

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
