A characterful cottage with balcony, boathouse and direct access to the beach. Ideally located in the heart of Polruan with easy access to the South West Coast Path and passenger ferry to Fowey.

With a balcony overlooking the beach and the River Fowey, Waterwitch Cottage offers guests picturesque views of nearby Fowey. Cosy, comfy and peppered with nautical nuances, this cottage will bring back all the nostalgia of the English seaside. Whether you're watching the world go by from the balcony, taking in the sun on the beach or hopping on the ferry across to Fowey, the simple beauty of the South Cornwall coast will wash over you in a calming wave.

The interior is full of quirky seaside touches, complementing the pastel blues and fresh whites that adorn the interior. Persian-rugs, a stripy sofa and a treasure-chest style coffee table are just some of many charming subtleties that add character and charm to this property. Sip sundowners on the balcony as the sky turns pink: the perfect end to a day of adventure.

Just 3 miles from the cottage are the grassy cliffs of Gribbin Head, which offer stunning views over the English Channel. Watch the waves crash against the steep rocks below and listen to the hush of the tide. If it's man-made beauty you're after, then take a walk through the narrow streets of Polruan and stop off in one of the many traditional Cornish pubs that are squeezed into the tight alleys. For kids and adults alike, take the 15-minute ferry across to the busier town of Fowey, where you can learn something new at the Fowey Aquarium just 0.5 miles from the cottage.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Within a few minutes of arriving at Waterwitch, we were planning our next stay there! The location is superb with direct access to the beach. Having the boathouse to store our canoes and paddle boards, made getting into the water very easy. The view over the estuary was fantastic. Having a passenger ferry, two pubs and a tea rooms all with 1-2 minuRead morete walk added to the superb location. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We loved eating outside on the balcony. We are looking! Hide

We had a very good stay here. The cottage was very cosy & warm. It was very much appreciated that logs & kindling were left for us. The views from all the sea facing windows are really outstanding. It was great watching the little ferry going across & occasionally other little boats too. We found the double bed very comfortable & cosy which was reaRead morelly welcomed as often this can be the thing that lets holiday cottages down. We were very comfortable in The Waterwitch - thank you. Hide

The cottage is in a great setting particularly if you have a boat or paddleboard. Had everything we needed, short walk to bakery and ferry, and lovely coastal walks. A lot to do without having to take the car out.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
