This stunning coastal home nestles in an idyllic rural setting and has been lovingly fitted and furnished in a contemporary country style, boasts a private hot-tub and heated outdoor pool, and provides relaxation and fun for all ages.

Located on a narrow rural lane near the Cornish border, this magnificent home is ideal for a special reunion with friends/family. Sleeping 17 across eight bedrooms, it’s nestled amongst tranquil countryside, but is also close to the dramatic Hartland Cornwall Heritage Coast. Only a few miles away, the secluded beaches of Welcombe and Marsland are connected by the picturesque South West Coast Path. There’s also the option to relax at home, with a heated outdoor pool in summer, a private hot tub and a games room. This house really does have it all.

The property has been sympathetically renovated, with many original features still intact, and the owners have paid careful attention to detail to ensure every room has its own style and character. At the heart of the home is a large, well-equipped kitchen/diner with plenty of space for everyone. There are two lounges, separated by a secret door, so that all generations can relax in their own way, whether that’s with a good book in front of a roaring fire or in front of the TV. There is also a bunk bedroom on the ground floor, but the other bedrooms are on the first floor with the bathrooms, all of which are finished to an exquisite standard to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep. Outside, there is a heated pool, a hot tub and a spacious garden.

This is a great base from which to explore North Devon and North Cornwall, including the beautiful coastline. You’ll never tire of the impressive cliffs, sandy beaches and spectacular sea views, whether you’re at Sandymouth (11 miles), Hartland Quay (9.5 miles) or in the popular seaside town of Bude. Here, you’ll find a canal, beaches and independent shops/eateries. For something different, take the circular route from Morwenstow (8 miles) to the National Trust’s smallest property, Hawker’s Hut.

This is the perfect house for large groups, great entertaining space and gorgeous lawn with sea views. An amazing house with everything that we needed for the family celebrations. We were nine adults and six children and at no time did we feel crowded. The children loved the games room and the adults loved the hot tub. Despite being a November break we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A big thank you to the owner for everything.

Particularly impressed with how easy to contact the owner was. Most bedrooms have en suite facilities, which was nice. Would definitely look at coming again, dates permitting.

North Cornwall

Embark on clifftop wanderings along the South West Coast Path to discover ancient myths and legends; King Arthur at Tintagel Castle, or the giant at the Bedruthan Steps. Surfers flock here to ride the famous swell that carved the dramatic coastline, and Bude and Newquay are havens for the sport. From sandy bays and beaches to the seafood delights of Padstow or thrills of Camel Creek Adventure Park, North Cornwall is brimming with things to do; trails to trek, cream teas to gobble, and adventure to be had.

West Cornwall

Let the history, romance and raw beauty of West Cornwall whisk you through time, into rocky coves and along sweeping sands to Land’s End where the UK slips into the Atlantic. Discover an oasis of flora owed to the rare geology of the Lizard peninsula. You can kayak around Godrevy Island, wander the galleries of St Ives, catch a performance at the open-air Minack Theatre, and still make it to Marazion for dinner: St Michael’s Mount makes the ultimate backdrop.

South Cornwall

Tucked away from the swell of the Atlantic pretty fishing harbours sleep, and lush carpets of greenery roll up to craggy cliffs. Discover the fishing and smuggling history in Kingsand and Cawsand, or walk the South West Coast Path from Fowey to the tiny tidal beach at Readymoney Cove. Sample local ales in St Austell before visiting Charlestown’s tall ships, the enchantments of the Eden Project, or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From vibrant towns to secret beaches and exhilarating days out, the south has it all.
